Make the purpose clear
Tell the team whether you are considering a purchase, reviewing a vehicle you already own or asking about a particular concern. Include the vehicle details, where it is located and any practical access restrictions. A preferred viewing date is a request, not a reserved appointment.
What the appraisal covers
The checks cover external lights, wipers and washers; a visual engine-bay and fluid-level check with screenwash top-up; visual checks of front and rear brakes and suspension; the underside and drivetrain; all four tyres and wheels, and the spare or inflation kit. A ramp photograph is recorded and findings go into your written report.
Findings and further work
Any need for alignment is flagged in the appraisal and alignment work is booked separately at an extra cost. Repairs or detailed diagnostic work beyond the appraisal are also agreed and charged separately. The appraisal does not include a valuation, finance or ownership-history check.
