Review what is due
Give the team the current mileage and the details of previous servicing, including any filters, fluids or other scheduled items already replaced. A service reminder or manufacturer's schedule is useful context. The workshop can then establish the maintenance required at this visit.
Agree the service contents
Major-service requirements vary between petrol and diesel vehicles and between individual models. Ask for the proposed checks, fluids, filters and any other replacement items to be listed in your quote. The service name alone does not define the work for every car.
Plan additional work clearly
Mention any known faults or other maintenance you would like reviewed. Timing-belt work, repairs and extra diagnostic investigation need their own confirmed scope if required. The team will discuss findings and any additional costs before further work is agreed.
